Singer-songwriter Sandra McCracken will perform at Samford University on Tuesday Sept. 17. The Samford community is invited to attend the convocation worship and worship exchange lunch. Tickets for the lunch are available online. McCracken will also perform at Dawson Memorial Baptist Church in Homewood at 7 p.m. for a night of worship.
“Sandra is a gifted worship leader and songwriter, and we’re excited to welcome her to the campus of Samford University for this event,” Kara Young, public relations coordinator of the Center for Worship and the Arts said.
McCracken is a modern-day hymn writer and record producer. Originally from St. Louis Missouri, McCracken now lives in Nashville, Tennessee, where she remained in order to focus on music after she attended Belmont University. She produced and recorded 14 albums with internationally known worship songs such as, “We Will Feast In The House Of Zion.” Numerous artists, such as All Son’s and Daughters and Caedmon’s Call, recorded McCracken’s original songs.
McCracken is a member of the Indelible Grace Music and Rain For Roots. These are ministries focused on making worship more accessible to different audiences. She also writes for numerous blogs and magazines, such as Christianity Today, She Reads Truth, and RELEVANT Magazine.
“Looking forward to spending time with students. Being on the Samford campus and collaborating with musicians means I get bonus time for listening and learning,” McCracken said.
