Passion City Church pastor Ben Stuart will speak on campus Tuesday Nov. 19 in the Wright Center at 7p.m. This event is hosted by Samford Greek Life and all are invited to attend.
Stuart is the author of “Single, Dating, Engaged, Married: Navigating Life and Love in the Modern Age,” which discusses navigating through the four different phases in relationships, the purpose of each phase.
Panhellenic delegate and Greek Leadership Board member Amber Cruz read Stuart’s book over the summer and discussed how conversational it was.
“It was about each relationship phase from a Christian point of view and how God planned relationships to go and how love should copy his love for us,” said Cruz.
According to Greek Leadership Board President Kaleigh Ioder, Stuart plans to speak about how one should view their neighbors as “a new creation in Christ.”
“We are so excited to welcome Ben as this has been a long time coming,” Ioder stated.
Students look forward to attending the event and hearing from Ben Stuart. Panhellenic Delegate and member of the Greek Leadership Board Amber Cruz said that it has taken them two years to get Ben Stuart to come to Samford due to his busy schedule.
“It was a process,” Cruz said.
Cruz also mentioned how Stuart’s discussion on being a “new creation in Christ” is something that would benefit Samford students.
“I think a lot of times in the Samford culture, a lot of people can see your sins as who you are rather than the Lord forgiving you for them,” Cruz said. “So, in the same way we shouldn’t judge others for something they did long ago. You are becoming new in Christ every single day.”
According to Passion City Church’s website, Stuart continues to be a pastor at Passion City Church in Washington D.C. Stuart graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary and earned a masters degree in historical theology.
“Ben and his wife, Donna, live to inspire and equip people to walk with God for a lifetime,” Passion City Church website states.
