On Wednesday April 21, the 2021-2022 Student Government Association’s Student Executive Board was sworn in at the Wright Center in front of students, faculty and family. Along with the swearing in of the new Student Executive Board, the outgoing SEB was recognized for their work this last year. Each member also received a gift from SGA advisor Amy Simpson.
Along with that, Hope Dawson and Alan Crisologo received the SGA Career Achievement award, which recognized them for their dedication and work during their time in SGA. Dawson also gave a speech, reflecting on the past year as SGA president.
Not only was the new SEB sworn in, but the incoming senators and Student Judiciary Council was sworn in by the new Chief Justice Josh Chiodo.
Samford’s President-elect Beck Taylor made an appearance during the inauguration, where he gave a speech to the incoming Student Executive Board. Then, near the end of the event, current Samford University President Andrew Westmoreland gave a benediction.
“We really do sit in the shade of trees we did not plant,” Westmoreland said during his speech.
