The Birmingham Bulls had their first home game of the season this Saturday. The Bulls were 2-1 heading into the weekend as they took on the Knoxville Ice Bears.
It was a hard fought game but the Ice Bears came out on top by a score of 4-1. The Bulls have scored an impressive 14 goals in 4 games. I caught up with head coach Craig Simchuk and asked him about his offensive zone success.
“We have guys that compete. It’s not just one and done efforts it’s the second third fourth effort on pucks. These guys are pounding pucks, they are hungry and they are willing to pay the price and go to the dirty areas to score goals.”
That level of effort was very apparent in the game on Saturday. The Bulls managed to get 52 shots on net but only managed to sneak one past the goalie.
The Bulls are back at home on Friday, November 4th against the Huntsville Havoc.
