Samford Volleyball has been on a tear as the season winds down. The team has won seven of their last nine games. After a home loss to ETSU on Sept. 30, the Bulldogs rallied for a hot streak, as the team racked off seven straight wins before most recently dropping two straight on the road to Chattanooga and ETSU.
“We’ve done some good work in the competition phase of the season,” Head Coach Keylor Chan said.
Chan noted the team has some “growing pains and key areas to work through,” but he said he is “more than confident my team is up to the challenge.”
“This team of athletes is truly the dream,” Chan said, “with each girl having the talent and skill to be an integral piece of every game. Every girl is special each night, and it’s really a great group of players. We’ve put in the hard work.”.
So far, the bulldogs are crushing it on the offensive side of the net, as they lead the SoCon in both assists and kills. Chan said he “believes in the team and their ability to take that jump to play at a high level at the end of the season.”
Based on recent play, the Bulldogs look like they’re headed in that direction. Samford will next play during the Title IX Anniversary Celebration Game against Furman at home on Friday, Nov. 4, and for Homecoming on Saturday, Nov. 5, versus The Citadel.
