Plans for Samford University’s new state-of-the-art recreation facility are underway. Preview renderings of the largest capital project in the university’s history were released on Friday.
Seibert Hall will undergo extensive renovations to accommodate large recreation spaces including a floating indoor track, several multi-use courts, workout areas, common areas, a coffee house, a 24-hour convenience store, and more.
Bashinsky Field House will be refurbished to include dedicated practice spaces for men’s and women’s basketball and volleyball programs.
A third building will also be constructed next to Seibert Hall with a suspended indoor track, basketball courts and cardio spaces, event spaces, a catering kitchen, a covered outdoor space, a pedestrian walkway, and a covered balcony
Construction is scheduled to begin in early 2023.
