It was an eventful Saturday afternoon in Chattanooga for the Samford Bulldogs. The dogs were named 2022 Southern Conference Champions for the first time since 2013.
The Bulldogs won 35-24 over their opponent Chattanooga to clench the championship title.
Quarterback Michael Hiers threw for three hundred and fifty-three yards and four touchdowns to secure the win and earn the offensive player of the week award.
This win earned the dogs an automatic qualifying bid where they will continue their 9-1 season Saturday, November 19 at Mercer.
Southern Conference Champs
