The Samford Dance Team closed out their fall 2023 season with a bang this past weekend at Seibert Stadium.
The team has enjoyed extra opportunities to perform on the field since the SOCON Championships and second-round FCS Playoff game were hosted at home. Their hard work has paid off as they have had successful halftime performances at each game.
Coach Valerie Powell recaps the team’s biggest moments this season.
“The overtime game was a big highlight for us. Making it to playoffs was, of course, a big highlight. And then we’ve had some small victories in the studio too, learning new tricks, learning new things, just being able to cheer each other on constantly during practice,” said Powell. “The little victories matter to us just as much as the big ones.”
The team is now looking forward to halftime performances on the basketball court. They will also be welcoming their 2024 team with tryouts in the spring.
