After starting the season 4-9, Samford women’s basketball is on a hot streak, currently sitting at 10-10 after winning six of their last seven games. The only blemish in the seven-game stretch came against Mercer yesterday, as the Bulldogs fell on the road 70-63.
Andrea Bailey continues to be the team star, as the guard is averaging 18.6 ppg in her senior season. In addition, she has scored 20 points or more in all but two of the last seven games for Samford.
Sussy Ngulefac continues to be a beast in the paint, averaging 10.6 ppg and 4.5 RPG. However, in her most recent effort against Mercer, the center left a lot to be desired, as she finished with six points and eight rebounds in an aberration from her usual output.
Despite the tough loss to Mercer, Samford’s play has been highly encouraging. Crawling back to .500 after a 4-9 start is no small feat, and the Bulldogs will look to continue their success this Thursday when they host Furman at 6 PM at the Pete Hanna Center.
