Phi Mu held its annual philanthropy event “Bonnamu” last Friday. Bonnamu is a concert hosted by the sorority to raise money for Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. At the event, a beneficiary shares their story and their experience with Children’s.
This year, the band Colony House headlined Bonnamu. Colony House is a rock band based out of Franklin, Tenn., and they have over 900,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.
“I feel like music is here because it helps people feel less alone. It rallies people. It connects us. And when there is a cause… there’s something natural. I feel that’s why music has always been a companion to a cause… It’s an honor when we know there’s something more happening,” said Caleb Chapman, lead singer for the band, about playing shows that have a cause behind them.
Through Bonnamu, Phi Mu was able to raise over $11k for Children’s.
