Over the weekend, the Birmingham Bulls earned their first home victory over Huntsville 2-1. The Bulls have struggled against the Havoc over the past few seasons, but that didn’t stop the Bulls from dominating this game. While the score was close, the Bulls outshot their opponent 51-38. Carson Rose set the tone early in the first period with a shot that ripped past the goalie’s left shoulder. Jake Pappalardo buried a one timer from the faceoff circle to take advantage of a 5-on-3 powerplay. Defensively, the Bulls held Huntsville scoreless on four powerplay opportunities. Hayden Stewart was excellent between the pipes all night long.
The Bulls return to the ice this Thursday night against the Fayetteville Marksmen. Samford students can purchase glass seats for only ten dollars with a student I.D.
